Battery Spontaneous Combustion Solution For SOCMA Electric Construction Machineries
The battery and the battery management system that we use for our electric construction machinery is totally different from that are used for electric scooter.
The battery that catch fire is MnNiCo ternary battery.
We use lithium phosphate battery from CATL (also the supplier for Tesla and BMW car).
The spontaneous combustion temperature of ternary lithium battery is 200 degree , The spontaneous combustion temperature of lithium phosphate battery is 500-800 degree , and the spontaneous combustion temperature of ternary lithium battery is significantly lower.
In addition, the chemical reaction of the ternary lithium material is more intense, it will release oxygen molecules, the electrolyte will burn rapidly under the action of high temperature, and a chain reaction will occur.
We have the following measures to protect our machinery from spontaneous combustion:
1, The battery is with cooling and heat management system which guarateen the battery work safely.
2, We have software to strictly grade to limit battery overcharge and overdischarge performance
According to the working conditions of the whole vehicle, formulate corresponding fault protection and corresponding fault handling to ensure the safety of the whole vehicle
3, For our electric machinery, there will be insulation control, which always check the insulation resistance, and immediately cut off the high voltage when an emergency occurs.
